UCD Orientation is designed to help you settle in to UCD. Throughout the programme you will be introduced to different aspects of life in UCD including student life, studying at UCD and social integration.

Updated on 21-9-20 to reflect updated public health guidance.

For most students Orientation in 2020 will have three major components:

Programme Orientation

  • A timetabled series of events led by your College or programme (eg School of Law) Which will mostly take place online. You can find your programme’s timetable online

  • These events will be scheduled to take place between 22 - 25 September

  • Graduate Taught and research students should check the Graduate studies website

Peer Mentor led social activities (including a campus tour option)

  • Undergraduate students will be will be assigned a Peer Mentor along with a group of your classmates. The Peer Mentor will host a mix of online and offline activities as appropriate for your group. Your first group meeting will be online

  • Peer Mentors will invite you to take a virtual campus tour using our virtual tour portal and will be able to talk you through where your learning will take place

  • When it is safe to do so your Peer Mentor will be able to take you on a campus tour.

  • For more information on Peer Mentoring and our campus tour options view the Peer Mentor web page
