UCD Orientation is designed to help you settle in to UCD. Throughout the programme you will be introduced to different aspects of life in UCD including student life, studying at UCD and social integration.
A timetabled series of events led by your College or programme (eg School of Law) Which will mostly take place online. You can find your programme’s timetable online
These events will be scheduled to take place between 22 - 25 September
Graduate Taught and research students should check the Graduate studies website
Peer Mentor led social activities (including a campus tour option)
Undergraduate students will be will be assigned a Peer Mentor along with a group of your classmates. The Peer Mentor will host a mix of online and offline activities as appropriate for your group. Your first group meeting will be online
Peer Mentors will invite you to take a virtual campus tour using our virtual tour portal and will be able to talk you through where your learning will take place
When it is safe to do so your Peer Mentor will be able to take you on a campus tour.

UCD has a virtual Learning environment called Brightspace, this is where you will access all your teaching, learning and assessment materials for each of your modules. When you log into Brightspace, you will also be able to access our 'Introduction to UCD' Module which will be the home for your virtual Orientation programme throughout the Autumn Trimester. In order to access Brightspace, you first need to do the following:
The "Introduction to UCD" module on Brightspace will cover topics including; UCD for ALL, Discover IT, Bystander Intervention and Academic Integrity.
Orientation will also have some self led options for students with social and sport events available on the UCD Student Events Calendar.
